Abstract: 

The article is connected with the exploration of the Biblical inter-text in the novel «Last Orders» by Graham Swift. The interpretive strategy is put forward by the system of marked and unmarked allusions and quotes referring to the Bible. The Biblical inter-text, viewed as one of the main constructive elements of the narrative, sets forth one of many possible interpretations of the Swift’s novel.
